Follow these steps, so you are ready to go before you start class.

Activity: Setting Up Your Google Drive for Boot Camp

Throughout the boot camp you will work on activities both in groups and individually. Having your Google Drive set up for boot camp ahead of time can keep all of your materials organized and easily accessible for you. Follow the steps below to set up a very high level architecture of your Drive.

Remember: you can break your subfolders down as far as you want to but at the very least you need this high level structure set up.

  • Log into your Google Drive

Login into Drive

  • After logging into your Drive, click “New” on the left side and choose “Folder” Click New

Choose Folder

  • Name your new folder anything you like that you will relate to your boot camp and then click create

Name and Create

  • After this main folder is created right click on it and click share. Change sharing to “Anyone with link can edit.”
  • Inside of your new folder create subfolders for Pre-Work and Units 1-18 by following the same steps as above for creating a new folder. (A shortcut is to right click inside your folder and choose new folder from the popup)

Subfolders

  • You can leave your drive just like this or you can break your unit folders down into more subfolders (Some subfolders might include activities, homework, slides. It all depends on how much you want to break it down)
  • You will save your pre-work activities to the Pre-Work folder in your drive and be sure to set them so anyone with the link can view them.
  • When boot camp starts you will want to save all of your activity files to the correct unit folder.

Note: If you are working in a group be sure to make a copy of the file that the group is working on and put it in your personal Drive after completing the activity.
